St. John’s Physician Practices is pleased to welcome provider Dr. John Payne to the multispecialty group operated by St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson, WY. “John’s experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery and track record for team leadership make him an excellent fit for our group,” stated Physician Practices medical director Dr. Jim Little, Jr. “Our community benefits greatly from Dr. Payne’s expertise in restoring function and appearance for patients facing problems related to cancer, injury, and birth defects. The medical specialty he represents is important part of the continuum of care that our community expects.” Dr. Payne also provides surgical and non-surgical elective cosmetic procedures. He has been the sole physician provider at Plastic Surgery of Jackson Hole since 2002.
Dr. Payne is board certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987. Following a one year internship and three years of general surgery residency, Dr. Payne completed his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery residency in Des Moines, Iowa. He practiced in northern Ohio for nine years prior to his move to Wyoming in 2002.
Dr. Payne’s practice provides care for patients from a wide geographic area, including the Jackson Hole valley, central and western Wyoming, eastern Idaho, southern Montana, as well as national and international visitors. Dr. Payne served as Chief of the St. John’s Medical Staff from 2011 to 2013 and previously held other medical staff leadership roles. He is currently Chief of Surgery.
St. John’s Medical Center Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, as the new practice will be known, is located at 555 East Broadway, Suite 211 in the St. John’s Professional Office Building. The transition will be effective April 1, 2014. “I’m pleased that the plastic surgery practice will now be working more closely as a team with general surgeons and the other providers from St. John’s Physician Practices,” said Dr. Payne. “In addition, the practice will now be able to accept the expanded number of insurance plans currently accepted as in-network by the hospital, which should be very beneficial for individuals requiring reconstructive surgery.”
