Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled the 2015 Cache Creek Mountain Bike Race on Wednesday, June 17th. The 2015 Cache Creek Mountain Bike Race will utilize trails entirely within the Cache Creek drainage. Registration takes place at the Teton County/Jackson Recreation Center or online at www.tetonparksandrec.org Race registration deadline is 12:00 pm on June 17th or earlier if the maximum of 75 participants is reached.
The race begins at Mike Yokel Park with a mandatory pre-race meeting at 5:00 p.m. The race start is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Race participants should plan to arrive at the park prior to 4:45 pm to pick up their bib. Race participants must be a minimum age of 15. Helmets are required and headphones are not allowed. Bikers are responsible for their own repairs. Participants need to carry water as there is no water on the course.
The 2015 mountain bike race course is approximately 10.3 miles and begins at Mike Yokel Park with a controlled start through town. The race course includes Hagen Highway, Ferrin’s Connector, Tiny Hagen, Hagen, Upper Sidewalk (to avoid Hagen Stairs), Upper Putt-Putt and Putt-Putt Trails and will finish at the Nelson Drive/Putt-Putt Trailhead.
Spectator parking will not be available at the Nelson Drive/Putt-Putt Trailhead. Limited spectator parking is available at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole. Spectator’s dogs must be on leashes.
A post race picnic and awards celebration for participants will be held at Mike Yokel Park beginning at 7:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend and a limited number of picnic tickets will be available for purchase at the park.
Racers are reminded that Cache Creek Trails are shared use trails and bikers must yield to all other users when training for and participating in this race. IMBA Rules of the Trail should be observed at all times. Trail users, please be advised that the race will occur from approximately 5:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the Cache Creek Trails.
