The proposal to build 28 rent restricted housing was lauded by planners who recommended that the Town Council approve it.
The Planning Commission listened to the plan by the Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust to build the units located at 335 Redmond Street and 557 E. Hall Street. After some adjustments to sidewalks and parking, the board unanimously voted in favor.
The project will provide one space per bedroom plus two guest parking spaces. All of the parking for the units is located on-site, with the majority of the parking concentrated in the central parking area in the back of the property, with additional parking located directly off the alley and off Hall Avenue. This means that the parking for most of the units is located separately from the units so that some residents will need to walk a certain distance to access their units. The applicant has addressed this need by providing an extensive system of internal sidewalks to help residents and guests circulate through the site.
The project, known as the Redmond Street Rentals, had earlier been enthusiastically approved by the Design Review Committee and will now move forward to the Town Council.
Earlier this month Mayor Sara Flitner committed several million dollars to help build the units
