The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club (JHSC) is delighted to announce Brian Krill as the Club’s new Executive Director. Brian recently played a pivotal role at the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) in establishing the Club Development Program (2013-2016) and as Director of Sport Education (2015-2016). He is a level 300 USSA alpine coach and has worked closely with the National Team’s staff as well as clubs in every USSA sport. He will fill the vacancy created by Carrie Boynton’s departure in 2015 following her nine years of successful leadership of the Club. J. Michael Hammer, who has served as Interim Director since Mrs. Boynton’s departure, will continue to play a supporting role until Brian’s start date in the office August 1.
“We are extremely excited for Brian to lead JHSC into the future,” said Jim Coleman, JHSC Board President. “Brian’s skillset is unique and he will bring a wealth of knowledge in the areas of club development, student-athlete education, non-profit management and program & coach advancement. Brian has spent the last several years traveling the country to assist USSA clubs develop strategic initiatives to be the best clubs they can be. We are very much looking forward to working with Brian to bring JHSC to the next level. Brian is eager to build on the positive momentum the Club has created through its successful ‘Building Our Base’ campaign to ensure early season skiing at Snow King Mountain. Brian believes strongly in continuing and enhancing the Club’s programs to best serve our athletes at all ages and ability levels.”
Brian has worked as a professional athletic and academic educator at all levels and holds a master’s degree in non-profit management. Brian was an administrator, teacher and coach in independent schools and ski clubs for over a decade and has extensive business, sales and non-profit consulting experience. Additionally, he was a professor at Western State Colorado University where he taught academic writing, public speaking and philosophy courses. Brian acted as the Interim Director of the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation in 2012 and 2013. In 2013 he brought his broad background and resources related to education, competitive snowsports, business, fundraising and nonprofit leadership & management to USSA as the Club Development Manager. In 2015 he was promoted to Director of Sport Education where he was tasked with providing education, certification and recognition to USSA clubs and coaches nationwide.
Brian has spent most of his adult life in Rocky Mountain communities and very much enjoys mountain town living. He is especially excited about embedding himself and his family in the unique Jackson Hole community. “The opportunity to join your community, run a mission-based organization and enhance the experience of all your athletes and families is what’s most important. Couple this with an amazing staff and the incredible training venues at Snow King Mountain, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Trail Creek, and we are all in for a wildly fun and successful ride!” Although he will not officially start until August 1, Brian will work remotely until then to familiarize himself with JHSC and progress several initiatives.
