Drivers are cautioned to drive slowly on — or avoid using — the Elk Refuge Road for the rest of the week.
The Teton County Road and Levee Department will be applying dust guard to the first 4.22 miles of road from the entrance to the Elk Refuge at Broadway. Heavy equipment will be on site, and travel may be limited to only one lane of traffic for short periods of time. If drivers must use the road during these days, they are advised to drive slowly to avoid splattering the dust guard — magnesium chloride — onto their vehicles.
The Road and Levee Department will be continuing road maintenance services next week in Alta, where dust control measures are planned for State Line, Alta North, Targhee Towne, and Greenville roads.
Your cooperation and patience is greatly appreciated as Teton County strives to keep roads well maintained.
If you have any questions, please call Derek Thompson, Teton County Road and Levee maintenance coordinator, at (307) 732-8543.
