Changes to Dining Options-New Casper Ridge Loop Trail at Rendezvous Lodge

by Jackson Hole. Media

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is rolling out a reconfiguration of dining options for the 2016 summer season. This is the first step towards making the summit of the Bridger Gondola a hub of summer mountain activity including hiking to the summit or the base on new and expanded trails, climbing, high alpine running and coming next summer, Via Ferrata; an assisted climbing experience that is completely unique and high in demand by those who appreciate the thrill of human powered adventure.  The Casper Ridge Loop Trail will be open this summer and offers our visitors to the top of the Gondola, a beautiful scenic loop that extends to view the Grand Teton from an amazing southern alpine location. A short first section with some elevation gain, then turns into a lovely winding low elevation trail to the scenic overlook before returning for a well-earned refreshment at one of Jackson Hole’s three restaurants at the top of the Bridger gondola; the all new Piste, The Deck @ Piste or Off Piste, depending on your timing.

Rendezvous Lodge, located atop the Bridger Gondola is open June 18 – mid-September offering breakfast, lunch and dinner options.   Off Piste Market, from 9 am – 3 pm serves up breakfast and lunch options, in addition to beer, wine, espresso bar and grab-and-go snacks.  Outside, the popular Deck @ Piste, opens daily at 3 pm, for al fresco dining from our popular Deck menu.  Piste Mountain Bistro is open for dinner, starting at 5pm.  This exciting new restaurant has expansive floor to ceiling windows that open onto the Deck and jaw dropping views of the valley. Friendly staff welcome guests into the stylish but casual setting, serving a diverse menu that highlights shared plates and daily specials.  Daytime gondola service is included in the new Tram Tri-Pass, and the lift opens for free nightly at 4:30 pm.

Couloir, JHMR’s fine dining restaurant in Rendezvous Lodge, will not be open for the summer season.  All scheduled private events in the restaurant will take place, and our strong banquet business at the Rendezvous Lodge will continue for both summer and winter events.  The decision to close Couloir was taken firstly because the new Piste Restaurant has broader appeal, with its connection to the popular Deck @ Piste, and its natural summer setting.  The decision is also partly influenced by ongoing community-wide staffing challenges exacerbated by the affordable housing shortage throughout the valley.
