It will be a re-match between Marti Halverson and Bill Winney for the Republican nomination for House District 22 this August.
Winney, who ran against Halverson in 2012, told jacksonhole.media, “My purpose is clear: Wyoming is facing a very tough budget future. HD 22 must move beyond empty rhetoric and harsh conservatism and deal with this revenue reality effectively. I have served in tough budget arenas and can deal with the realities of such reductions.”
Winney, from Bondurant pointed to his familiarity with HD#22 constituents and the issues at hand. Winney had a 30-year active duty career with the U.S. Navy and has been an outspoken advocate in Cheyenne.
Halverson, who came to Wyoming in 1996 is the current representative for HD22.
The winner at the primary will be opposed by Marylee White of Wilson.
