Town Council and Board of Commissioners Hold Joint Information Meeting
Immediately following the annual 9/11 Memorial Flag and Bell ceremony on Monday, September 11, 2017, the new Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Chief, Brady Hansen, will be sworn in outside Station 1, located at 60 E. Pearl Avenue. The Memorial ceremony will take place on the Town Square at 8:00am, and is scheduled to conclude at 8:30am. The swearing-in for the new Fire Chief will commence at 8:45am.
In addition to the morning activities, the new Fire Chief will be formally introduced to the Jackson Town Council and the Teton County Board of Commissioners in the afternoon at their Joint Information Meeting (JIM). The meeting is scheduled for 3:00pm in the County Commission Chambers at 200 S. Willow Street.
Other items on the JIM agenda include:
- • Recognition of Town and County staff, as well as volunteers, for eclipse-related efforts and operations
- • Discussion of future processes related to the Specific Purpose Excise Tax (SPET)
- • Discussion and update on the Parks and Recreation Strategic Planning Process o This item will primarily entail a high level, consultant-led visioning exercise for the Town Council and Board of Commissioners focused on Parks and Recreation policies and programming, and is not intended for public comment on specific park projects – there will be future opportunities for public engagement and comment as it relates to projects and the Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan
The next Joint Information Meeting is scheduled for October 2, 2017.
