It my seem a long ways away, but the 2018 election season is underway!
The League of Women Voters in conjunction with the Teton County Library have set the dates for 2018 election forums.
The coalition sponsors a series of forums for both the primary and general elections every two years and this week settled on a series of dates for the community dialogs. To avoid conflicts with other groups, the coalition meets early in election years to set its program.
For the Primary Election, the coalition has set forums for:
- Wednesday, Aug. 8
- Thursday, Aug. 9
- Monday, Aug. 13
The gatherings will be held at the Teton County Library Ordway Auditorium from 6 p.m. to about 9 p.m. The Primary Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21.
For the General Election, forums are scheduled on:
- Thursday, Oct. 11
- Monday, Oct. 15
- Monday, Oct. 22
- Wednesday, Oct. 24
The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 6.
The forums will engage candidates for local races and those seeking to represent Teton County voters and residents in the Wyoming House and Senate. They will include a session on the lodging tax as well. As in the past, the forums will seek questions from members of the audience, will likely include a small panel of questioners, and will be guided by a moderator.
The League, the library and media partners will provide a non-partisan environment in which ideas can be debated in a civil and even-handed manner. For information about the forums, contact the library’s Adult Program Coordinator Leah Shlachter at 307-733-2164 x229 or email@example.com.
Library programs are free and open to the community with support from donations, large and small, to the Teton County Library Foundation.
