Womentum is a 501c3 nonprofit best known for Womentoring, a mentoring program that builds community by developing women’s skills, confidence, and local network. Womentum’s signature fundraiser, the Women in Leadership Summit, will take place on Friday, November 2nd from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the Center for the Arts. Taking the lead from from last year’s successful inaugural event, the day-long event will feature a keynote address, coffee and conversation, interactive workshops, panel discussions, box lunch, and plenty of networking. New for this year will be a happy hour to wrap up the event (and the work week).
The 2018 Women in Leadership Summit will explore the theme of “Courage to Lead.” Keynote speaker Bettina Whyte will address the courage to be true to yourself, being a female leader in a predominantly male field and the importance of having mentors. Ms. Whyte has enjoyed a 30+ year career as a restructuring professional who has aided the turnaround of a number of multi-billion dollar companies. She has served as Interim CEO or Chief Restructuring Officer for domestic and international corporations in a variety of industries, and remains one of very few women who have succeed in this male-dominated role. Following the keynote address and coffee reception, attendees will circulate between three, 90-minute breakout sessions led by local and regional facilitators. The breakout sessions will focus on three aspects of leadership: Personal Leadership, Public Leadership, and Communications for Leadership.
The second annual Women in Leadership Summit will take place at the Center for the Arts. Thanks to a marketing grant from the Travel and Tourism Board, Womentum will be able to maximize exposure for all event sponsors.
